PSYCHOLOGIST

We are looking for a full-time or part-time psychologist to complement our existing group and serve a wide referral base. Our practice is comprised of psychologists, master’s-level counselors, ARNPs (Psychiatric Nurse), and five office staff. As a group practice, we incorporate supervision and consultation. Office staff primarily does the work required for credentialing (i.e. getting people on insurance panels), filing, billing, and so forth. Practitioners get to focus on what they do best–providing excellent psychological services. We have a great reputation in a good market and our caseloads are generally booked out 6+ weeks. Preferred qualifications include:

DOCTORAL TRAINEE

Our Training Program offers training and education preparatory for the independent practice of professional psychology. This position may be part-time or full-time and must last at least 2 years but may be as long as is required to meet all supervisory hours required to becoming eligible for a psychologist license. Please note that this position is limited to fully-licensed master’s-level providers seeking doctoral-level supervision toward receiving a psychologist license.

The Training Program includes the following emphases: first, concentration on deepening diagnostic and clinical skills with clients served within a private group practice, and second, introduction to assessment skills specific to the role of a practicing psychologist. Training and services include: individual & couples’ counseling; assessment; psychometrics; and crisis and emergency response.

DOCTORAL INTERNSHIP

Our Internship Program is an annual position which begins each summer and ends the following summer. Most applicants serve two days per week and are affiliated with a local APA-accredited doctoral program. This position emphasizes training in the areas of psychometrics. This includes administering and scoring cognitive/intellectual instruments such as the Wechsler intelligence and memory scales. The Intern will also gain an understanding of pharmacology by inputting medication, dose, and condition into patient charts.

Weekly Activities:

Students may work two days a week comprising 8-12 hours per week.

  • 4-6 hours delivering psychometric services
  • 2 hours devoted scoring instruments and providing basic report writing
  • 2 hours of face-to-face supervision (1 individual; 1 group)
  • 1-2 hours of learning activities, e.g. utilizing our continuing education library, group supervision
  • Crisis intervention services may also be available on a limited basis

Internship Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)
  • Training in the administration of instruments associated with psychological, cognitive, projective, and neuropsychological evaluations
  • Prior experience working in a clinical setting providing direct patient care
  • Interest in working in a private practice setting
