Nicole York, MS. MA.

Nicole York, MS. MA. obtained masters degrees from both Chapman University in 2003 and Walden University in 2015.  She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Walden University.  Nicole has been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 2007 and currently functions as a practicum student working toward securing her doctoral degree.

Nicole has been providing mental health services since 1997.  During that time, she has worked in community mental health programs and in private practice.  She currently functions as both a mental health specialist and an intellectual disabilities specialist.  Her counseling approach employs the following treatment modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Brief Solution Focused Therapy.  In the process of providing treatment, she measures current symptoms, identifies clients’ areas of strength and development, and works collaboratively with clients over the course of therapy to address their treatment goals.

Nicole treats adults who have personality disorders, impulsive behaviors, emotional regulation struggles, anxiety, trauma, work stress, parenting issues, interpersonal/relationship issues, and those seeking to support family members with a mental illness.
