W. Kefron McCaw, Psy.D.

W. Kefron McCaw earned his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in San Diego, California in 2015.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California in Santa Barbara in 2007. He has received clinical training at Advanced Neurobehavioral Health of Southern California, San Diego State University Counseling and Psychological Services, the Catholic Charities Center for Counseling, and the Union of Pan Asian Communities (UPAC) Positive Solutions Program.

Dr. McCaw enjoys providing assessment and psychotherapy to clients with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, grief and loss, stress management, and memory loss.  He has experience working with different client populations, including those within the federal probation system, retired NFL players, college students, and older adults.  His clinical and research interests include geropsychology, grief and loss, and neurocognitive disorders.  His dissertation explored the experiences and perspectives of individuals in the early-stages of Alzheimer’s disease.

Dr. McCaw became licensed as a psychologist in Washington State in June of 2018 and joined the clinical staff at Allenmore Psychological Associates, P.S., in August of 2018.  He currently conducts psychological assessments for the Department of Social and Health Services.  Dr. McCaw utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy as a way to overcome negative thinking styles and improve coping skills and self-esteem.  He also employs characteristics from Motivational Interviewing and Humanistic and Psychodynamic psychotherapies when working with clients.
